A Bit about Long-QT-Syndrome.com

Before going any further, let me first thank you for taking the time to learn more about Long QT syndrome. I have written this brief introduction to explain the important and ever increasing role that Long-QT-Syndrome.com plays in educating and supporting individuals with Long QT syndrome.

Long-QT-Syndrome.com was founded in the fall of 2002 to spread the word about Long QT syndrome throughout the medical community. Our mission has since broadened its horizons to help educate and support patients and families affected by Long QT syndrome.

Long-QT-Syndrome.com fulfills its mission of educating and supporting patients and physicians via the information provided through our Web site and printed materials. Our primary goal is to provide easily obtainable and understandable information about Long QT syndrome to patients and their families. Oftentimes it is difficult for families to obtain information about Long QT syndrome. We offer the "Long QT Pack" to anyone who is interested in learning more about Long QT syndrome. The Long QT Pack is a collection of printed materials that we have selected among the best published information about Long QT syndrome. Included in the packet are booklets from the Mayo Clinic, SADS (Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndromes) Foundation, CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Youth) Foundation, and Long-QT-Syndrome.com. (Click here for more information on the Long QT Pack.) In addition to offering the "Long QT Pack", our Web site also features other important information for patients including an introduction to Long QT syndrome, the drugs to avoid list, links to other important Long QT resources, current Long QT news, and it continues to expand.

We recognize that the first step in identifying and treating patients with Long QT syndrome starts with the family physician. It is therefore critical that the family physician know the basics of recognizing the signs and symptoms of Long QT syndrome. We work hard to make this information available.

We are constantly updating and improving our organization to better provide information to patients and physicians about Long QT syndrome. If you have any questions about Long QT syndrome, are in need of support, or want to help out by offering a personal story or an informative article, please contact me at LongQT@mindspring.com.

Thank you for your support.
